Marie Tweedie

Counselor Intern

About Me

Hi! My name is Marie, and I am a counseling intern pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I have more than three years of experience supporting children, adults, and families through a variety of roles in community mental health settings. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for each person’s unique story and the importance of creating a counseling relationship grounded in warmth, authenticity, acceptance, and respect.

My approach to counseling is primarily existential-humanistic and person-centered, meaning I value your unique experiences and believe you are the expert on your own life. I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, values, and patterns with honesty and curiosity. I believe meaningful change becomes possible when we develop greater self-acceptance, take responsibility for the choices within our control, and begin living in ways that feel more authentic and aligned with what matters most to us. My role is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to explore where you would like to be, identify what matters most to you, and take meaningful steps toward your goals.

I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward greater insight, meaning, and a more fulfilling life.
